Polynucleotides provide a rejuvenated appearance that feels as natural as it looks. This advanced treatment transcends conventional anti-ageing methods by not only addressing visible signs but also enhancing the intrinsic health of your skin on a cellular level.
They are anti-ageing injections that stimulate tissue repair and encourage restoration and regeneration of the skin from within, with benefits to both older and younger skin.
Polynucleotides (full name polydeoxyribonucleotides) are long chains of nucleotides that make up DNA and RNA molecules. They are derived from fragments of fish DNA (which resemble human DNA), which means they have the ability to function as a biostimulator, kick-starting regeneration in the skin. Due to their antioxidant properties, Polynucleotides are anti-inflammatory and increase collagen production which results in a thicker, healthier epidermis.
Polynucleotides are being used to reverse the ageing of tissues and repair scarring by tackling the concern from the source, in contrast to the traditional approach, for example with fillers, which focuses on treating symptoms.

Polynucleotides are great for under eyes and dark circles, crepey skin, fine lines anywhere on the face and neck, sun damage and your skin's texture.
The results will be noticeable after two treatments, at 4-6 weeks, however, some clients have noticed results before this time.
In some cases, further treatments are required to see the full benefit, and this will be discussed during your sessions; this can be dependent upon your body’s response to the first treatments.
Polynucleotides are injected just under the skin utilising very fine needles and is relatively painless. You may feel a short sting or scratch sensation, but this is temporary and does not last.
It is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or any anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment.
Immediately afterwards it is important to avoid alcohol, sun exposure, wearing make-up, strenuous exercise or the use of hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.
You are also not to have any additional facials within the first two weeks of the treatment.
Typically, the effects of polynucleotide treatments last for approximately six months to a year. Maintenance and top-up treatments can be offered to help retain the improved condition of the skin.
Side effects of polynucleotides are generally very minimal, with the main potential side effects relating to the site of the injection, where patients may experience redness, swelling and bruising which should settle after one to two days. More serious side effects, such as allergic reactions, are extremely rare.
